Parco Naturale Laghi di Avigliana
54 Via Monte Pirchiriano Avigliana
The Avigliana Lakes Nature Park, established in 1980, is located in the lower Susa Valley at the foot of Mount Pirchiriano on which stands one of Piedmont's most important tourist attractions, the Sacra di San Michele, a very fascinating religious complex and positive energy point according to experts in esotericism and white magic.
The Avigliana Lakes are two small lakes of moraine origin, located in the municipality of Avigliana, in the metropolitan city of Turin, and partially protected by a Nature Reserve. The several concentric frontal moraines were produced by a southern tongue of the Pleistocene glacier of the Susa Valley (or Segusino), at its maximum extent. As it retreated, the accumulation of melt and precipitation waters in the spaces enclosed by the moraines created the lakes[1].
They are separated by a narrow isthmus and, based on their surface area, are called Lago Grande and Lago Piccolo, respectively.
