In the sub-basement on the ground floor, 3 recycling bins are made available to the kind clientele:
1. ORGANIC
Food leftovers, Vegetable and fruit scraps, Egg shells, Stale bread, Cores, kernels, Coffee grounds, Tea bags, Small bones and cartilage, Wilted flowers
Compostable materials: plates, cutlery, bottles, bags and other materials can also be placed in the organics container if they have the CIC compostability mark.
Tips:
Do not bring in plastic bags, food containers and kitchen papers (aluminum, baking, foil).
Close the bags tightly before depositing them in the collection container.
If you have a garden at your disposal, dabble in compost production by following the simple rules in the “Home Composting” section.
2. PAPER or CARDBOARD
Newspapers and magazines, Advertising flyers, Food bags (e.g., bread, fruit), Paper bags with handles, Sheets, Posters, Cardboard boxes, Beverage cartons (e.g., milk, wine, juice), Food boxes (e.g., pasta, rice, cookies), Wrapped packages (e.g., canned goods, yogurt), Cardboard boxes (e.g., shoes, medicine, toothpaste)
Do not go in the paper dumpster:
All non-cellulosic materials
Chemical papers, carbonless, charcoal
Laminated paper
Dirty paper (greasy pizza boxes, used tissues)
3 . UNSORTED WASTE
Unsorted waste includes all those materials that cannot be recycled or reused because they are dirty, damaged, composed of different materials, or not compatible with recycling processes.
Examples:
- Dirty or damaged plastic items.
- Rubber objects.
- CDS/DVDS.
- Materials contaminated with food or oils.
- Diapers and sanitary napkins.
- Litter and animal droppings.
- Broken toys.
- Cigarette butts.
- Dust.
- Waste composed of several different materials.
Waste that does not go in the undifferentiated garbage:
- Recyclable waste such as paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, metals, organic waste.
- Items that can be taken to ecocenters, such as household appliances, expired medicines, batteries.
Regarding instead.
- GLASS and ALUMINIUM (pickup in the subscale every Wednesday)
- PLASTICS (pickup in the subscale every Thursday)
these should be placed in separate bags and left in the subscale on the days indicated above.
